Luxurious taste that can only be achieved with carefully selected ingredients and handmade products.

Using carefully selected Japanese ingredients and delicious glutinous rice from Niigata, a rice-producing region, the rice crackers are made at the company's own factory, from polishing to seasoning and packaging.
The use of glutinous rice makes them fluffier than Senbei, crispy rice crackers.
The crispy texture, the delicious taste of each sauce and the gentle sweetness of the rice with an aftertaste are perfect for both snacks and appetizers to enjoy with alcohol.

We use Niigata contract-grown rice, the makers of which are visible, and the ‘flavour’ of Niigata rice is brought out to the maximum by the handiwork of craftsmen, which cannot be done in mass production.

Wataboshi, which are grown with great care in a rich natural environment where large amounts of snow melt away in early summer and enrich the fields, are delivered as rice crackers.
Since its establishment in 1950, the rice cracker shop [Sakura confectionery] has been sincerely producing rice crackers one by one, preserving Niigata's precious traditional taste.

Japanese rice snack, okaki. The taste of Japan.

The oldest ‘rice snack’ in Japan is said to have a history of more than 1,000 years, with ‘okaki’ made from rice cakes being eaten as early as the Heian period (794-1185).
Okaki, which are still popular today, are snacks made from glutinous rice and are familiar to all generations in Japan, from children to grandparents.
The gentle sweetness of rice goes well with all kinds of foodstuffs and there is a wide range of flavours to choose from.
Each flavour has a different taste and texture, so you are sure to find your favourite.

The craftsmanship that brings out the full umami of Okaki.

Sakura confectionery uses only domestically produced rice, mainly from Niigata Prefecture, which is famous for its rice.
The secret of the delicious taste of the OKAKI - rice crackers lies in the attention paid to the dough. Steaming the polished rice as it is and pounding it with a pestle reduces air bubbles in the dough, resulting in a uniform and firm rice cake dough.
Only whole grains of brown rice are used without any of the rice scraps or crushed rice that is often used in rice crackers.
As rice is a perishable food that oxidises when exposed to air, it is made into rice crackers with minimum exposure to air as much as possible.
Thanks to this attention to detail, the baked okaki is a product with the sweetness and flavour of the rice itself.
