Aizuwakamatsu City in Fukushima Prefecture has a long history of crafting lacquerware, dating back to 1590 when Lord Gamō Ujisato promoted the industry. Aizu city is one of Japan's top lacquerware producers. Today, it remains committed to preserving and passing down these traditional techniques for future generations.
