Fukube TAFU Japanese Outdoor Knife

Inspired by the makiri, a traditional fisherman’s utility knife used in coastal towns along the Sea of Japan, TAFU is made for life outdoors. Its double-bevel blade combines a Yasugi Aogami No. 2 carbon steel core with SUS410 stainless steel cladding, paired with a charred oak handle. From campsite food preparation to carving feather sticks, TAFU brings the practical spirit of a traditional working knife to camping and outdoor tasks. A black Tochigi leather sheath and magnesium fire-starting rod are included.

Care

Hand wash and dry immediately after use. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave soaking in water. The exposed carbon steel edge can develop a patina and may rust if left damp; apply a light coat of food-safe blade oil before extended storage.
